Earlier this year, you helped us rush critical support to our partner in South Africa, Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary, after a fire all but destroyed their sanctuary. Some animals were left seriously injured and tragically, a tiger lost his life.
Since then, the animals have been in places of safety – but it is time for them to return to the home they love.
We promised Panthera Africa that we would help rebuild when the time came, and that time is now.

One of the most urgent needs is to rebuild the cats’ night houses, which are essential for their comfort, safety, care and management. These secure spaces were destroyed in the fires.
These structures are especially important for older animals who need extra warmth during the cold, wet winter, which is rapidly approaching in South Africa. Many of the sanctuary’s lions and other cats are elderly, and warmth is vital to their wellbeing and comfort.
With your support now, we will transform their burnt, damaged sanctuary into the haven they deserve in their twilight years.
Please help rebuild a sanctuary for big cats who survived abuse, exploitation and now wildfire.
Panthera is building eight fire-resilient night houses, designed to withstand extreme conditions and protect animals in changing weather conditions.
The animals need eight shelters at $4,500 (£3,500) each.

Extreme wildfires are becoming more frequent and more intense in South Africa. What happened once can happen again and the difference next time will depend entirely on what is rebuilt today.
Fire destroyed their safe place, but it doesn’t have to destroy their future. With your help, the animals can return to the home they love. Please donate generously now.
